Brewing a refreshing change in the business of tea and in the way it engages customers, Watawala Tea Ceylon’s flagship brand, Zesta opened two new tea boutiques – at Liberty Plaza and at the transit lounge at Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake.
Now a household name for top end, premium quality tea, Zesta, part of the Sunshine Holdings conglomerate, will offer customers a collection of a wide range of their speciality, gourmet, single origin to wellness, fruit infused, organic, blended teas. These teas offer the full bodied, aromatic, distinct flavour which has become synonymous with the brand, Zesta. From gifting to personal use, the collections come in wooden, foil, reed and other packaging and include staple free tea bags.
The newly re-opened Zesta Gift Tea Boutiques will dazzle shoppers with their displays of hand-picked, single estate teas, picked from the highest altitudes of the fabled elevations of Nuwara Eliya to the misty valleys of Uva and Dimbula. Stylish packaging that explains the garden of origin, grades of tea, quality of leaf and the process will lure customers looking for the unique and exclusive – from artisan to dessert tea. Also available are blends such as masala tea, with a hint of Cardamom, Bergamot and Peppermint infused and the classical black, our morning’s fresh start.
“Zesta gift boutiques will offer customers something beyond just the heady brew,” said Watawala Tea Ceylon CEO Surith Perera. “The range will have from the champagne of teas, hand-picked from Nuwara Eliya to green teas and offer a choice that is becoming very popular in gifting. The outlet at BIA is designed for travelers in a hurry to pick up their last minute purchases or to browse the collections, the packaging of which is explicit in its narrative,” he revealed.
Surith went on to note that globally people are more aware now than ever before of the health benefits of tea and those that know the beverage well have become discerning in their choice of tea. “Tea from the gardens of Kenilworth and Waltrim, stars in their own right, are sought after and we are delighted to offer these, together with countless other varieties at the Zesta outlets.”
On the shelves are over 100 different types of tea presented in either loose leaf or in convenient muslin tea bags in wooden, ceramic, terracotta or rush based tea caddies, tins, boxes in attractive designs. Sampling of the teas is also available while exclusive gift sets that make ideal presents or souvenirs jostle side by side, in attractive high quality packaging to ensure that it stays breakage free and intact for travel.
Watawala Tea Ceylon Ltd., the consumer arm of Sunshine Holdings, has today established a reputation as the No. 1 branded tea company in Sri Lanka. Watawala Tea Ceylon Ltd. is also sister company to Watawala Plantations which is the single largest tea plantation company in Sri Lanka with 17 tea gardens across all three tea growing elevations.
