The quarterly “Members Meet” event organised by The Management Club Mt.Lavinia (TMC) was held at Hotel Galadari, Colombo, on 6 September 2023.

Eminent corporate leader Kapila Sri Chandrasekara delivered the keynote address on the topic, “Domestic Debt Optimisation (DDO): Way forward, opportunities and challenges.”

The session was followed by a panel discussion attended by corporate leaders as follows: People’s Bank Chairman Sujeewa Rajapaksa; LIRNEasia Chairperson Prof. Rohan Samarjiwa; Frontier Research, Head of Macroeconomics, Risk advisory Chayu Damsinghe; and Business Consultant/Keynote speaker Kapila Sri Chandrasekara.

The event was attended by over 100 senior corporate leaders and TMC members.

The session created much interest among the audience as all possible practical scenarios that could arise post DDO were discussed with the impact on the economic and business landscape of Sri Lanka. The current economic crisis in the country and the way forward was discussed objectively with scientific economic data in a non-political lens, eliciting learning from world economies.

TMC Mt.Lavinia Chairman Kanishka Ranaweera enlightened the participants on the objectives of the club highlighting the club’s vision on skills development of the youth and the SME sector of Sri Lanka. Funds generated from the event would be utilised to organise skills development sessions for university undergraduates and entrepreneurs of the SME sector.
