The Management Club of Colombo organised another session under ‘The Way Forward’ series theme titled ‘New Edge Corporate Behaviour’.
The event was held on Friday, 14 July at the Bougainvillea Hall of Hotel Galadari. Guest Speaker for the evening was Imal Fonseka – a renowned corporate leader and business specialist. Over 100 participants from the corporate sector attended the event and the Main Sponsor was Vision Care Optical Services.
During his presentation on New Edge Corporate Behaviours Fonseka touched upon the following:
1. Redefining success metrics: Fonseka challenged traditional notions of success, urging organisations to move beyond financial metrics and embrace a more holistic approach. Attendees were able to gain an understanding of how integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into business practices can drive sustainable growth and long-term value.
2. Purpose as a driver of change: The guest speaker highlighted the power of purpose-driven organisations and how a clear mission beyond profit can attract customers, engage employees, and create a positive societal impact. Attendees were able to learn how to define and articulate a compelling purpose that aligns with their core values and resonates with stakeholders.
3. Embracing sustainable innovation: Fonseka explored how organisations can leverage innovation to address pressing societal and environmental challenges. Attendees were able to gain insights into the transformative potential of sustainable innovation, ranging from product and service development to supply chain optimisation and resource management.
4. Inclusive leadership and culture: The guest speaker emphasised the importance of fostering inclusive leadership and cultivating an organisational culture that values diversity, equality, and belonging. Attendees were able to discover strategies to build inclusive teams, leverage diverse perspectives, and create an environment where every individual can thrive.
