TMC Colombo Chairman Dr. Pradeep Edward

The Management Club (TMC) Colombo conducted its 18th Annual General Meeting via Zoom technology with the participation of many of its members including several founder members of TMC.
The Management Club (TMC) was inaugurated in 2002 under the auspices of the Chartered Management Institute – UK Sri Lanka. TMC was established to uplift management practices in Sri Lanka on par with the best international standards, and strives to achieve this by providing constant opportunities for member interaction and participation.
The meeting commenced with Chairman Dr. Pradeep Edward calling the meeting to order and addressing the membership of the activities carried out by the dynamic members of the TMC Colombo Exco. He then stated that the Board of Management and the Exco have invited him to continue as Chairman for yet another year and stated that he considers it a privilege to provide leadership for this esteemed institution.
Dr. Pradeep Edward counts over 25 years of corporate experience in both local and multinational companies, in numerous fields, with over five years in a CEO capacity. He is a Fellow member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), and further holds three fellowships from the Chartered Institute of Marketing – UK, Institute of Management Specialist – UK, and an Honorary Fellowship from the Institute of Marketing Malaysia (IMM).
He is a Past President of SLIM (Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing), and Pharma Promoters Association of Sri Lanka, and General Secretary of Sri Lanka Chamber of the Pharmaceutical Industry. Pradeep has been a Judge and Speaker at several local and international events. At present, he holds the post of Secretary General of the Asia Marketing Federation (AMF). He is the former Chief Executive Officer of Lanka Hospitals Diagnostics and the Current Executive Director/CEO of SGC.
The new Chairman stated in his address to the membership, that it was a great prestige to be elected to head this prestigious institute. He added, “The Management Club is all about networking and getting all managers to face the world and its challenges. Our goal is to bring development to the rural areas and improve our managers amidst this COVID pandemic.”
Further, he said that he and his team will be committed to conduct knowledge sharing forums with eminent personalities, and will collaborate with all institutes in the country to uplift the management standards in Sri Lanka. He also noted that most of the traditional events conducted by TMC will be continued such as the popular Management Quiz which will be held in the coming year.
He specially thanked President Emeritus Fayaz Saleem for inviting him to take over this role last year, for the Exco for nominating him for the second term and Nazar Majeed incoming President of the Board of Management and Deepal Abeysekara the Immediate Past President for their blessings, together with the President Emeritus Fayaz Saleem and the Board of Management of TMC.
He also thanked his team and re-confirmed that he was confident that his dynamic team TMC- Colombo would help to achieve even greater heights and hoped that this lockdown and the pandemic will soon be resolved. He also thanked the membership for all their encouragement given to him and his team during this turbulent time.
New Committee members: Deputy Chairman Rumindra Ranasinghe, Secretary Asha Jayamana, Treasurer Priyantha Hapuarachchi, Exco Members Ranjith Fernando, Chatura Wijesuriya, Duneeshya Bogoda, Terrance Gunewardene and Tharidu Wijetunge, two more members will be nominated at the first Exco meeting, Roshnie De Saram former Secretary will take on a new role to lead the CSR projects of TMC Colombo.
