The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) conducted a webinar on 12 September in collaboration with The Management Club (TMC). The Zoom-based webinar, on the theme ‘Life with Variants: Overcome Barriers & Embrace the Change’, was led by Medical Research Institute, Colombo Consultant Immunologist Dr. Dhanushka Dassanayake. The discussion was moderated by Hemas Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Senior Business Manager Riza Cassim.
The webinar shed light on timely topics such as moving forward with the new normal and acting responsibly to bring the pandemic to an end. Dr. Dassanayke highlighted the responsibilities of the general public and patients, and their role in preventing the spread. In response to a question raised by the audience, Dr. Dassanayake also emphasised the role of the corporate sector in battling COVID-19.
Commenting on the webinar, SLIM President Thilanka Abeywardena said, “As the national body for marketing in Sri Lanka, the vision of the Institute is to strengthen the nation’s efforts towards economic prosperity. In a challenging time like this where the country is battling a global pandemic, professionals and businesses of all sizes need to understand the significance of continuity of business, which is very crucial in terms of sustaining economic growth with resilience. “We should embrace new ways of doing business while acting in strict conformity with the recommended health and safety guidelines. Despite the uncertainties and chaos, life must go on. With that motive in mind, we partnered with TMC to conduct the ‘Life with New Variants’ webinar. We organised this forum to give our members an opportunity to clarify their doubts and debunk myths.
Sharing his thoughts, The Management Club Chairman Dr. Pradeep Edward stated, “TMC is pleased to join hands with SLIM to conduct the mentioned webinar, covering some timely topics.
