TMC Colombo appoints new Exco for 2024/2025

 The Management Club Colombo Chapter’s Executive Committee (Exco) for the year 2024/2025 was appointed during the 19th Annual General Meeting of The Management Club Colombo , held on 16 July 2024 at 6.00 p.m. at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo. 

Dr. Pradeep Edward has been appointed as Chairman of the Exco. He currently serves as Director General Manager at Hemas Hospitals and is the former CEO of Lanka Hospitals Diagnostics. Dr. Edward has also held prominent positions such as Secretary General at the Asia Pacific Marketing Federation and Vice President at the Private Medical Laboratories Society Ltd. Additionally, he is a former President of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM).

Duneeshya Bogoda takes on the role of Vice Chairman. She holds a Master of Business Administration specialising in HRM from the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Kelaniya. A young entrepreneur with over 10 years of private sector experience, Bogoda is the owner of businesses such as Dunee’s Kitchen, DUNEEB, VIP Counselling, and 4D events. She also works as the International Project Director for International affairs at onlinedurchbruch.com and is a freelance consultant in MBA student consulting. Additionally, she is a national-level swimmer and water polo player. She is the President of 2024/2025 at the lions club of Nawala and was the Secretary in year 2023/2024.

Shiwanthie Wijesuriya was elected as Secretary. She is a Chartered HR Professional with over 20 years of experience in human resources, including over 15 years in leadership roles across various reputed global multinational corporations and local organisations in diverse industries. She holds an MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University, a Professional Qualification in Human Resource Management from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management and is a certified trainer from City and Guilds UK. She is a Chartered Member of CIPM – CMCIPM, Member of Association of Human Resource Professionals MAHRP and a Fellow Member of Chartered Management Institute (FCMI), UK, and holds the Assistant Treasurer position on the CIPM Governing Council.

Priyantha Hapuarachchi has been appointed as Honuourary Treasurer. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in the United Kingdom, and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He currently holds the positions of Director/Chief Executive Officer of Master Divers Ltd. and Chief Executive Officer of Pelwatte Coconut Industries Ltd. He has held numerous senior management positions in leading organisations and is a Past President of the Sri Lanka Russia Business Council.

Dr. Chatura Wijesuriya serves as Committee Member. With over 35 years of experience in operational management across diverse industries such as plantations, apparel, food, automobile, FMCG sectors, and tile manufacturing and retail sales, he is a seasoned management consultant. Dr. Wijesuriya has held senior management positions at Royal Ceramics Lanka PLC, Sri Lanka State Plantation Corporation (SLSPC), Bogawanthalawa Plantations, MAS Holdings (Bodyline), Brandix (Intimates), Ceylon Biscuits Ltd. (Munchee), and Micro Holdings (Sanyong and Micro). He holds an MBA in Management from Cardiff University London.

Dr. Nilmini Withana joins the Exco as a member. She is the Chairperson of Western Health Care Ltd., CEO of Med Connect Ltd., local partner at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore and Apollo Hospital in India, and Founder Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Scoliosis Awareness Program. Dr. Withana also served as the President of the Lion’s Club of Nawala for the year 2022/2023.

Dr. Manjula Samarakoon, another new Exco member, is the CEO of Bogawanthalawa Tea Estates PLC. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Kelaniya, an MBA from the University of Colombo, and a Master’s in HR and Labour Relations from the University of Colombo. He is also a certified trainer at City and Guilds London.

Mahesh Senanayake, an Exco member, brings nearly 22 years of experience in media communication and marketing industries. He is the founder/director of Big Smile Voyages and the Academy of Best Studies. He holds an MBA from Australia, an MABE from the UK, and a CIM from the UK. He is also a former rugby player and referee.

Viraj Senanayake, an Exco member, is the CEO of MGM Ltd., Director at Vintage Holdings, Managing Director at Med Tourism International, and Director and CEO at Golden Corridor Visa Consultants. He was the President at lions club of Nawala in year 2023/2025.

Samitha Senevirathna, another Exco member, holds a B.Sc (CMB), MBA (Ireland), and Cert. M (SLIM). He is a Director of IMS Ltd. and Serendib Natural Products Ltd. and a Past President of the Rotary Club of Colombo Downtown.

Nishantha Delgoda, an Exco member, is an entrepreneur, consultant, business mentor, brand builder, and copywriter. He is currently the Chairman of Speed Group. He obtained his MBA from the University of Honolulu, USA, and is a Fellow of the Association of Business Executives of the UK (FABE) as well as a Fellow Member of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI) and Chartered Association of Managers (FCAM).

This distinguished team is set to lead The Management Club Colombo Chapter through another successful year, driving growth and excellence in all their endeavours.
