TMC Mt. Lavinia elects new Exco for 2024/2025

The Management Club Mount Lavinia Club Executive Committee (Exco) for the year 2024/2025 was elected during the 18th Annual General Meeting of The Management Club Colombo, held on 16 July 2024 at 6.00 p.m. at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo. 

Mario Alphael has been elected as Chairman of the Exco. He currently serves as the Country Manager – Sri Lanka and Maldives for Abbott Pharmaceuticals. He is the former country Manager for SL and Maldives for Sanofi Lanka Ltd. He has over three decades of sales/ marketing and leadership experience in leading multinational corporations such as Glaxo Smithkline, Sanofi and Abbott LLC. Mario has also been an Exco member and held positions of treasurer and secretary.He holds an MBA from Manipal University and is a member of CMA ( Australia). 

Thushan Rangana Meemanage is the Vice Chairman of the EXCO. He is the Director/CEO of Skyline Entertainment and Consultancies Ltd. and Scope Cinemas Ltd. He previously held leadership roles as CEO of Swedish Trading Audio Visual Ltd. and Director/CEO of EAP Films and Theatres Ltd. He is a Fellow Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA) with over 14 years of experience in strategic management, financial management, and business strategy.

Immediate Past President Kanishka Ranaweera is the Vice President of Human Resources at HSBC Global Service Centre in Sri Lanka, overseeing a team of over 2,800 employees servicing 64 countries worldwide. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Colombo and is an Attorney at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. With over 18 years of HR leadership experience in various industries, including banking, telecommunications, and pharmaceuticals, Kanishka has a proven track record of success. Prior to his current role, Kanishka served as the Chief People Officer at Bharti Airtel Lanka for six years, where he redefined the HR strategy and led the company to multiple accolades, including being recognised as a “Great Place to Work” for five consecutive years. He also made significant strides in talent management practices at Glaxo Smith Kline, earning the company global awards for best practices. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Kanishka is actively involved in national and international fora, serving as a guest speaker at such events.

Shalutha Samarathunge has been elected as the Secretary of Exco. He is the founder of Commercial Realty Ltd. He possesses 25 years’ experience in property development and real estate development. he worked at a prestigious group Ceylinco consolidate, one of the subsidiary company name called Ceylinco Land Exchange. He had joined The finance Company in 1997 and got transferred to Ceylinco Land Exchange as a Manager Real Estate and became Head of Real Estate and later as Director Real Estate of the company.

MBA holder of University of Honalalu, USA and also a Diploma holder in Real Estate Management in National University of Singapore. 

Chandana De Zoysa elected as the Treasurer. He is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of his organisation. He counts over 25 years of experience in the industry, in Human Resources and Administration, with over 18 years in senior managerial positions. Having started his career at Maritime International which was rebranded as Mankind International, which has a history of over 45 years as a leading recruitment and outsourcing company both in Sri Lanka and overseas. He has been a member of the Executive Committee of The Management Club – Mount Lavinia. 

Maneesh Rodrigo is an Exco member. He was the Secretary at Mt. Lavinia club for seven years and 32 years’ experience in the equity market as a stock broker. Presently, he is Senfin Securities Senior Vice President – Equities and a member at the Colombo Stock Exchange.

Shanaka Mahendran is an Exco member. He is a Management Accountant with over 20 years of experience in Sri Lanka and overseas and was the former Finance Director of Glaxo SmithKline Pharmaceutical.

Asanka Perera joined the Exco as a member. Currently, he serves as Inventory Controller at Ansell Textiles Lanka Ltd. and previously worked at Sanofi Lanka Ltd. as Deputy Director of Finance and Administration. Asanka holds a General MBA and an MSc in Accounting and Finance from the University of Northampton, UK. Also holds an MBA specialising in Supply Chain and Logistics from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK and Professional Financial Managers, UK. 

Chamindra Dissanayake joined Exco as a member. She is a passionate HR professional with over 20 years of experience in the field. She has a proven track record of success in developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results. She is particularly skilled in the areas of employee well-being, HR business partnering, strategic HRM and planning, employee engagement and satisfaction, cultural integration and HR best practices, business restructuring and change management, rewards and recognition, stakeholder relationship, training and Development.

This distinguished team is set to lead The Management Club Colombo Mount Lavinia through another successful year, driving growth and excellence in all their endeavours.
