In an effort to widen its reach and enable professional managers to extract the best of The Management Club, the Board of Management offers corporate membership to any firm which wishes to introduce five or more members to join this professional businessmen’s club at certain concessionary rates.
Corporate membership allows managers who join in a group as TMC members, great opportunities to network with managers from all categories of business, whether banking and finance, retail, marketing, hospitality or any other. Here, under one roof, intensive development activities take place with the committees of the individual TMC clubs vying with each other to excel in offering management development programs aimed at sharpening skills and enhancing knowledge whilst allowing plenty of networking opportunities in the right circles.
For a competitive entrance fee, five designated managers would be permanently considered members (any five or more at any time). The scheme is not restricted to five managers but starts with the first five. Any amount may enrol upon the payment of the subsidised entrance and annual subs. Members would be invited to attend ongoing training and development of their managerial skills through the three main TMC themes – ‘knowledge development, management development and social development’ – at very low cost. The company introducing their managers would project itself automatically as one that is committed to training its mid-managerial and senior workforce. This would be a boost to their own training endeavours and add value to the company.
TMC’s trainers are international and local well-known personalities who actually add worth to the programs. TMC also works with reputed training companies who also impart high standards of training, at reasonable cost only for TMC members. The programs are not limited to any one subject, e.g. marketing but cover a wide range of business spectrums and areas of personal development, thus knowledge of value is disseminated to those in a particular field as well as those who are not but yet wish to keep informed.
Joining The Management Club enlarges managerial vision as they get the opportunity to meet others from all walks of business thus they enlarge their people base, both for business and social purposes. There is an exchange of views and lots of networking opportunities. Managerial knowledge and skills get continued updating and ‘polished’ to international standards. There is also a fun element through the Social Development programs. The Clubs are scattered in several towns – at present Colombo, Mt. Lavinia, Wattala, Negombo, Kalutara and Moratuwa and in time to come, Kandy, central Sri Lanka and the deep south.
These clubs are based in well-known hotels and resorts which offer generous discounts (for members only) at all outlets of these hotels; (Including for member families). These venues also offer discounts if members wish to host personal functions. They encourage member family interaction, especially at TMC Colombo @ Galadari Hotel where there are many venues for business and social interaction. These are genuine discounts for value added services.
Members could utilise the business areas for their official and private meetings, workshops, etc. using their TMC membership card to gain discounts as much as 20%. If members were to travel out of Colombo, their TMC membership card serves as a passport to relax at our clubs and use the discounts. They could also interact with managers from those areas to their benefit. TMC hopes to open reciprocal arrangements with similar clubs overseas and members will stand a chance to benefit here too. TMC continuously enhances the benefits structure for its members by joining with vendors offering various products and services at concession, thus a TMC membership assures not only offers professional development but cost savings.
TMC Colombo’s facilities
TMC Colombo is based at the premises of Galadari Hotel, Colombo 1. Suite Rooms 206/204/202 on the second floor of the Galadari Hotel are exclusive to TMC members and include a lounge area with satellite TV, WIFI, Bottle Bar and a Meeting Room (12-seat) and Board Room with OHP facilities to seat around 17 members.
