The executive committee of The Management Club Mt. Lavinia has planned the activities for the membership and in turn wishes to inform them of what they can expect over the next three months.
Satisfaction survey for membership
The exco team firmly believes in hearing the voice of the membership and tailor-making member benefits and activities in order to maximise use and participation, whilst enhancing the value of the membership even for new members. An online survey will be sent by email to all members during the month of December. The feedback of members will be used to improve the overall value offering.
A career guidance program for university students
TMC recognises its responsibility to engage in the development of future managers. New graduates as they enter the corporate world have so much to learn and so few are willing and able to guide them. Using the sea of knowledge and experience encapsuled in its professional membership, TMC has launched this volunteer program which will help graduates get the basics right the first time. TMC welcomes the corporate sector to support these programs as sponsors to enable nationwide career guidance programs that would assist the budding talent of Sri Lanka with a good start to their career and a fair chance at success. The program is scheduled to start in December.
TMC Sri Lanka Night 2 – Wine testing, fellowship and networking event for members
After a hugely successful Sri Lanka Night last year, TMC Mt. Lavinia is hosting the second such similar event. Calypso music with a sing-along band, dinner with sumptuous Sri Lankan delicacies and an opportunity to partake in Single malt and Wine tasting. The event which is usually well-patronised will no doubt bring the membership together in a night of festive fun, of course following strict health guidelines.
Management development program. Social and business etiquette
On popular demand TMC Mt. Lavinia brings back the Social and Business Etiquette workshop.
Business and social etiquette is a collection of unwritten rules that apply to socialising, professional business relationships. In the professional world of business, good business etiquette means that you conduct yourself professionally and exercise proper manners when engaging with others in your profession. It creates a professional, mutually respectful atmosphere and improves communication, which helps individuals to fit in comfortably to high society settings and gives confidence, that translates into better customer/client relationships as well.
The Management Club in its effort to drive professionalism for managers in Sri Lanka is rolling out this workshop on Business and Social Etiquette in partnership with Ebenezer Double Edged Solutions Ltd. This workshop can help every manager polish up their professional outlook and will especially help people entering the business world to get an understanding of the dos and don’ts that form table manners to dressing appropriately to professional business conduct.
Good business etiquette is a valuable skillset that will make you stand out from others, enhance your chances at success and help you to fit in to any social gathering. It is important to note that if you lack good business, social and dress etiquette you may actually not realise it, but others around you will.
The executive committee of The Management Club Mount Lavinia hopes to see all the members of TMC actively engage in the line-up of activities listed.
