A joint webinar was organised by The Management Club (TMC) Colombo Chapter in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and on the topic ‘Disaster Agnostic Marketing for the Modern Enterprise’ on Tuesday 14 December at 6 p.m.
The resource person for the webinar was Saliya Withana, who is a marketer with over 20 years of hands-on experience in helping brands to digitally transform their marketing function. He is the Founder/CEO of a marketing transformation company called enfection as well as a regional award winning MarTech organisation; Momentro based in Malaysia.
The moderator for the webinar was Tharindu Wijetunga, a multi-qualified finance professional with over 15 years of experience in different industries. He is the Chief Financial Officer of Ceylex Renewables Group, engaged in electricity generation from renewable sources such as hydro, solar and wind power.
The moderator Tharindu welcomed all participants and made an initial briefing with regard to the objectives of the webinar and introduced the speaker and invited him to shed light into the topic and share his experience in being a Sri Lankan entrepreneur who setup business in Singapore and Malaysia.
The speaker Saliya opened the webinar with the context of the macro and micro economic environments and explained the basics of digital strategy in an environment of rapidly changing market and consumer behaviour. He emphasised on the importance of using data to formulate your digital strategy and get the digital marketing strategy attuned to the customers` decision point.
Case studies of actual strategies done by Saliya through his companies to leading companies internationally and taking a local manufacturer to the global market was discussed where the customers decision making process was reviewed and digital strategy has been aligned to cater to the customer’s decision-making process to bring excellent results. This was followed by an interesting Q & A session.
