Bob has been a presenter at numerous events, conferences and corporate meetings as a keynote speaker. His talks are lively, informative and entertaining. They embody the essence of many of his longer programs and workshops, and also serve as an excellent introduction or enticement to have people sign up for his other programs.
Bob, who has been dividing his time in the last ten years between Sri Lanka and Singapore, has a vast knowledge in relaxation methods and body education. He is an expert in the area of training and coaching for personal effectiveness, interpersonal communication, dynamic presentation skills, body language, leadership presence and personal branding, stress management, leading with a creative edge, team building, time and energy management, cross-cultural fundamentals, media training, self-image, trust and listening skills.
In Sri Lanka Bob has offered public talks and workshops through The Management Club (TMC), the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), Hayleys Group and Amcham which have attracted participants from a wide range of industries throughout the country.
He has conducted specific in-house trainings for clients such as Citibank, Union Assurance, Brandix Lanka, Innodata-Isogen Lanka, Fonterra Brands, Hirdramani Group of Companies and Access Agencies.
“Your personal brand is the image you want to portray to the outside world. A strong brand connects your inner values, feelings and aspirations with your external personality and outward presentation of yourself. You are aligned and people will know it because you exude authenticity and credibility,” said Bob.
He also said that, “Presence” is your ability to connect to yourself and others with authenticity and believability. It can be inspiring, energising, commanding, compelling and confident – and mostly it is you.
Each person’s presence is unique in all its richness and variety. It starts from within and is much deeper than simply learning more techniques. “You have to be willing to change habits, see differently, let go of old identities and the need to control, and be open to discovering and expressing yourself with passion and compassion, with both your head and your heart,” he said.
Bob stressed further that: “Taking the time to look deeper into the movement patterns and habits which govern your daily actions will produce surprising and meaningful insights about your self-image and your means of communicating with people. Your personal brand depends upon creating a positive first impression, then making it last through how you express yourself and engage with others, all this mixed with exploring the deeper areas of the value you provide for others.
“Expression of your unique self is the basis of your personal branding, your search for authenticity and integrity in your actions. An improved branded image will lead to increased self-esteem, self-confidence and impact in your organization. Presence goes beyond presentation skills. It’s how you express yourself every day, in every interaction.
“Whether you are communicating one-to-one, in a small group or meeting, or before a large audience, your presence is reflected, projected and felt continuously. It reflects your authenticity. It projects your confidence and credibility. It works on an emotional level.”
The summary of Bob’s takeaway to the very captive and very participative audience was as follows:
