What does one do when markets are competitive and saturated, companies are forced to revolutionise new business models, not only to generate more revenue, but also to stay ahead in disruptive market climates? Most companies generally focus only on a few core business models which most often fail in terms of being innovative. Within this context PwC’s Academy organised an executive education workshop in partnership with Engage//Innovate. The workshop facilitator and coach Christian Rangen is the co-founder of Engage//Innovate and is one of the leading Business Model Innovation experts in Europe.
The program was an eye opener for most participants as Christian shared some thought provoking strategy tools to help explore leading strategic transformation business model portfolios and innovations – all of which could be implemented in the individual organisations. Stepping aside from the traditional lecture based session, participants worked in groups intensively during the two day session, to re-invent their current business models and strategies accordingly. Christian used case studies from world leading companies such as Google, Tesla, and Disney to explain the key strategies for their success.
The program was conducted on 28 and 29 June at Cinnamon Grand, Colombo with participants from N-Able Ltd., Ceylon Biscuits Ltd., Asian Alliance Insurance, Bank of Ceylon, Commercial credit and Finance PLC, Sri Lanka Telecom, Dialog Axiata, Hyper Jet Technologies Ltd., CDB Finance, Capital Alliance Ltd. and DIMO.
Dialog Axiata Assistant Manager – Group Corporate Planning and Strategy Gayathree Abeyratne expressed that, “Christian was excellent in delivering a framework using multiple case studies. The workshop helped to fine tune my approach to strategy formulation,” while CBL Managing Director Thilanka De Zoysa stated, “The trainer has given a whole new dimension for us to think about, when developing the strategic innovation in our respective companies.” Asian Alliance Insurance CEO Ramal Jasinghe also indicated that it was ‘a good and insightful session and time well spent’.
PwC’s Academy aspires to inspire and motivate the Sri Lankan business leaders on innovation, strategy and transformation.
