Riaz speaks at TMC meet and greet evening

The Management Club Colombo had its quarterly meet, greet and networking evening at the Golf Club on 23 Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. Members and guests participated at this session where the evening commenced with a brief yet informative presentation by Riaz Hassen – Director Strategic Planning Richard Pieris & Co Ltd and former Managing Director of Mayfair Lanka Ltd Eswaran Brothers Group.

He is actively engaged in the leadership coaching and executive development education enhancing the levels of competencies to facilitate better leadership performances. He has a master’s of business administration and presently reading for the MSc in leadership & management. He is a member of the International Coach Federation USA and member Strategic Management Forum UK and facilitator of MBA programs at the Australian Institute of Business Adelaide. Riaz is extremely passionate about inspiring people to achieve their absolute best and committed to enhancing effectiveness of the next generation leaders – on the subject ‘The Leader as a Strategist’. Riaz in his presentation stated that strategic leadership recognises ambiguity and uncertainty well ahead and articulate action plans to emerge successfully. He also said that leaders today are required to institute speedy changes within their organisations than the rate of change in the external environment. An important aspect that he focused on was that Strategic Leaders have learnt to align resources and the mindsets of their people in order to produce the best results for their companies. He went on to add, that as much as leaders implement strategies for organisational growth that they also work extremely hard on developing the people who lead them.
