SLIM Experience Sharing Forum to feature Deepal Sooriyaarachchi

Deepal Sooriyaarachchi, Commissioner of Sri Lanka Inventors Commission (SLIC), will address the next Experience Sharing Forum (ESF) of Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) under the theme ‘How can Marketers Lead Innovation?’ The ESF is organised by SLIM, the national body for marketing, in collaboration with Sri Lanka Inventors Commission and will be held on 6 November 2013 at the main ballroom of Galadari Hotel from 6 p.m. onwards. Under this theme he will explore innovation as a strategic and a structured process in business, share his experience of working with local inventors and discuss opportunities available for marketers to leverage the innovative power of local inventors. Sooriyaarachchi is an Executive Development/Business Consultant and Trainer with over 30 years of experience in sales, advertising, marketing, strategy and human resource development. He is a past president of SLIM, former MD of AVIVA/NDB Insurance (AIA) and currently serves as a board member of several companies. Minister of Technology and Research Patali Champika Ranawaka will attend the event as the Chief Guest and speak on ‘How can marketers lead innovations?’ followed by experience sharing of two award winning inventors, Manju Gunawardana and Wimal Jayawardana. Thereafter an open discussion will be conducted with the participation of Minister Ranawaka,   Sooriyaarachchi,  Sri Lanka Inventors Commission Director Anuradha Illeaperuma and Dr. Gamika Prathapasingha and Nalin Karunasingha – Assistant Commissioner of Sri Lanka Inventors Commission and Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing President Gamika De Silva. The Sri Lanka Inventors Commission (SLIC) is a statutory body established in terms of Sri Lanka Inventors Incentives Act No. 53 of 1979. The principal objective of setting up of the SLIC is to promote inventiveness of the nation by providing technical, financial and legal assistance.
