Next workshop: ‘Professional Development for Senior Managers’ presented by Gihan Thalgodapitiya
The ‘Way-Forward’ – Management Development Workshop series organised by The Management Club in association with Human Resource Management Institute (HRMI) has been an overwhelming success with over 150 participants attending the three sessions conducted so far this year. These workshops presented by veteran Corporate Trainer Gihan Talgodapitiya has been consistently rated as a world-class learning experience.
Participants have commended on the very practical and pragmatic approach adopted in the workshops which have enabled participants to translate the learning into action. This has been attributed to the learning strategy adopted by Talgodapitiya in which he has used illustrations and examples to expound modern management thinking.
The first three workshops were on the themes; Strategic Thinking for Sustainable Growth, KPI’s for Productivity Enhancement and Cost Reduction through Creativity and Innovation whilst the fourth workshops scheduled for 13 November will be on ‘Professional Development for Senior Managers’.
The November workshop will focus on management competencies senior managers or aspirant managers need to function effectively in their roles.
Talgodapitiya will speak on a new perspective to senior management roles in which he recognises the need for every manager to contribute towards creating a competitive advantage without which he believes the role will be obsolete and superfluous. He will illustrate how every manager should bring about a differentiation in strategy and contribute to a competitive advantage by relentlessly pursuing innovation and continuous improvement.
The workshop will categorically detail where managers need to create a competitive advantage irrespective of the role or function they perform.
Talgodapitiya will identify several ‘frontiers of competition’ and explain how companies compete for employees, customers, suppliers, investors and for social acceptance and sustainability.
He will connect the relevance of innovation and productivity to every managerial role in an organisation and reiterate the necessity for every individual in an organisation to effectively contribute to competitive advantage if he or she needs to survive in their jobs.
The November workshop will provide an ‘eye-opener’ to every manager to realign their roles.
It will also provide valuable insights for CEO’s to revisit and review the contributions made by managers and critically examine the value addition and contribution managers make to the bottom line.
To avoid disappointment, the organisers request that corporates and individuals register their participants early.
The cost of the program would be Rs. 7,500 per participant whilst the cost to TMC/CMI members would be Rs. 6,500. (This full day program will include morning snacks, lunch and afternoon snacks/tea).
