Atlas, Sri Lanka’s leading stationery brand proved its continued popularity amongst people, with consumers voting them in as the ‘School Supply Brand of the Year 2022’ for the third consecutive year at the SLIM-Kantar People’s Awards 2022.
Atlas Axillia Co., Managing Director Asitha Samaraweera accepted the award presented to the most popular brand focused on learning, for its contribution to creating equal educational opportunities.
Accompanying him was Director of Marketing Kaushali Kusumapala and Director Sales Indrajith Binduhewa and other members of Team Atlas.
The company was also nominated for the ‘Youth Choice Award for the FMCG Brand of the Year 2022’, being named among the Top 5 FMCG youth brands in Sri Lanka at the awards ceremony held on 21 March.
The only brand awards ceremony that recognises the voice of the people, the SLIM People’s Awards are presented by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), chosen through comprehensive nationwide research carried out by Kantar LMRB, one of the world-renowned research companies operating in Sri Lanka at present.
The People’s Awards are rewarded based on a scientific research process that recognises the favourite brands, personalities, organisations that are close to the Sri Lankan hearts and minds.
Samaraweera was humbled by the continued consumer appreciation of the brand. “As the leading school supply brand, Atlas has served Sri Lanka’s children for over six decades. Today, the brand horizon is beyond stationery, we are a learning brand that delivers our brand promise through multiple tools, content, and experiences.
“Our purpose, making learning fun, defines who we are by influencing what we create and the social impact we make. Our purpose-based product and innovation philosophy gives us a framework to develop our portfolio to provide enjoyable and stimulating learning experiences, that also support early childhood development milestones.
“This purpose is also what appeals to the younger generation, and our nomination as a leading contender for the Youth Choice Award validates our vision.” He said.
The company’s stakeholder-focused learning interventions understand the timely needs of the stakeholders in the learning ecosystem in Sri Lanka. It is due to this that they were able to pioneer training teachers to adapt to online learning during a pandemic and be the first to start online study sessions for Grade five scholarship students.
Furthermore, uplifting the learning landscape in Sri Lanka by creating educational opportunities, Atlas creates equal access to education for children through the ‘Atlas SipSavi’ programme that provides financial scholarships, school infrastructure development, and school supply donations.
“Winning the People’s Choice Awards consecutively for three years is irrefutable proof of the company’s impact, and we are humbly proud to continue on this path into the future,” Samaraweera added.
