Coca-Cola once again underscored its position as Sri Lanka’s number one beverage by bagging two awards, ‘Youth Beverage Brand of the Year’ and ‘Beverage Brand of the Year’, at the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing Kantar People’s Awards 2022 held recently.
The two awards were accepted by Coca-Cola Sri Lanka Ltd. Head of Marketing Mario Perera who stated: “This is a momentous occasion for Coca-Cola in Sri Lanka as we have won both the coveted beverage awards for the first time ever, highlighting how close the brand is to the hearts and minds of all Sri Lankans, especially the youth.”
“As a brand, Coca-Cola has continued to refresh the people from all corners of Sri Lanka and connected with the youth through music, sports, food, events, and social and environmental projects.
“As we celebrate this historic win, we would like to convey our deepest appreciation to all our consumers for their support through the years and would like to reiterate that we will maintain our focus on delivering youthful, innovative, uplifting, and exciting experiences as we aim to meet their changing needs,” he added.
In 2021, Coca-Cola celebrated its 60th Anniversary in Sri Lanka. By establishing its footprint in Sri Lanka for six decades, Coca-Cola has invested in the future of its business, demonstrating long-term commitment, while adding economic value to the country and creating thousands of jobs directly and indirectly.
During the past year, Coca-Cola in Sri Lanka also launched the new Coca-Cola Zero with an even more delicious and refreshing recipe and bold, new packaging to deliver a taste that brings consumers even closer to the iconic classic Coke.
Since its introduction in 2007, the People’s Awards has been one of the most anticipated events in Sri Lanka’s corporate calendar. The awards are presented by SLIM the apex body for marketing in Sri Lanka.
Its objective has been to identify, recognise and reward the brands and personalities that are closest to the hearts of Sri Lankans.
The unique feature of the event is that the winners are picked based on consumer preferences determined by the results of an in-depth survey carried out in partnership with Kantar.
Kantar is an international data and evidence-based agency operating in over 90 markets and providing insights and actionable recommendations to clients worldwide.
