Kelani Cables PLC, Sri Lanka’s number one producer of secure electrical and communication cable, honoured its outstanding sales persons with the CEO’s Award for the seventh time at the Ananthaya Hotel, Chilaw, with the participation of Kelani Cables Director/CEO Mahinda Saranapala.

Anuruddha Wijekoon was adjudged the ‘Best Area Sales Manager’ while Thilina Walgama was conferred the ‘Best Sales Promotion Officer’ award. The second and third places of this category were secured by Vipula Weeraratne and Sameera Weerasinghe. Winners were offered cash prizes and foreign tours for their contribution towards exceeding 2018/2019 sales targets and achieving a record breaking sales volume.

Director/CEO Saranapala stated that Kelani Cables does business on the ‘525 Hearts, One Beat’ slogan and that the backbone of the company was its sales force.

“Employees are the backbone of our company. Hence our foremost responsibility is to recognise efforts of these employees who contribute annually towards the success of the company. A socially responsible organisation’s duty is to recognise its employees who contribute towards the betterment and sustainability of the organisation,” he said.

He added, “CEO’s award is presented by Kelani Cables to two top performers annually who contribute towards sales excellence. Award winners have exceeded their sales targets to record massive individual sales volumes. I wish them very best on their achievements on behalf of the entire company.”
