Mobitel affirmed its position as the leading mobile service provider in the country at the SLIM NASCO 2019 Awards held on 15 October at the BMICH, with Mobitel’s sales professionals taking centre-stage by winning a haul of prestigious sales awards across many categories.
Driven by its commitment to offer customers world-class service, Mobitel’s sales staff has been at the forefront of ensuring people from all walks of life can access its mobile services in a convenient manner. Mobitel’s prominent presence at the country’s premier sales awards underscored the telco’s commitment to investing in training and development of its people to delight customers and deliver results for the organisation.
As the premier event dedicated to recognise the efforts and performance of sales personnel, NASCO is eagerly awaited by Sri Lanka’s sales professionals, as winning an award on the occasion catapults them onto a national platform, which benefits their careers and profile of their employer. The most credible and respected award ceremony for sales professionals – SLIM NASCO – has become a badge of honour for sales professionals and corporates.
Keeping the Mobitel flag flying high, Ajantha Weerakoon won a Gold award in the Front Liners category while the Bronze and Merit awards were bagged by Indika Mahaliyana and Piyoni Dassanayake; Harsha Galagana won the Silver Award in the Territory Manager category; Ruhunuge Ajith and Rasika Kakulawala won the Silver and Bronze Award respectively in the Sales Executives/Sales Supervisors category; Sanjeewa De Silva won a Bronze award in the Other Sales Support Staff (Manager Category) while Manoj Thiyagarajha won the Bronze Award in the Executive category for Other Sales Support Staff.
Mobitel’s highly prized professionals were evaluated in a stringent judging process by an eminent panel of industry professionals. Apart from being evaluated on the basis of their performance over the period, the capacity to move up in the sales hierarchy to the next higher level and strategic input or the ability to add strategic value to business while performing assigned sales targets, they were further judged on specific criteria relating to each category.
Commenting on the accolades, Mobitel CEO Nalin Perera said: “We are proud of our outstanding sales professionals who have been crowned with so many awards at SLIM NASCO 2019. It is the passion and dedication of our employees to fulfilling our objectives that brings Mobitel continued success.
“We remain committed to investing in their skills development. I would like to also congratulate all the other winners of SLIM NASCO 2019 on their success. I commend the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing for holding these awards successfully year after year and for raising the bar for sales professionals in the country.”
Mobitel has built a proud legacy and an even more promising future, expanding its offerings beyond the realm of telecommunications into transportation, education, health, security, leisure and mobile money – all the while upholding its ‘We care. Always.’ credo.
Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) is the National body for Marketing in Sri Lanka and has been promoting marketing excellence and elevating the status of marketing since 1970. In 2010, SLIM went one step further and introduced the inaugural NASCO awards program which became the premier event for sales fraternity to recognise sales personal among wide range of industries under their job scopes. This year NASCO further extended its scope by recognising and rewarding performers in both B2B and B2C segments.
