The Mumbai-based World Marketing Congress which has been conducting their annual CMO Asia programs to recognise Asian organisations, brands and individuals that have demonstrated excellence in their fields as Best Brands, Best Employers and Women Leaders, this year recognised NGage Strategic Alliance with the Brand Leadership Award.
NGage is the 26-year-old pioneer in integrated marketing communications in Sri Lanka, and this is first award under their new brand. The brand takes forward a refocused and enlarged vision for the consultancy which was founded by the veteran ad man and marketing guru Nimal Gunewardena.
The agency recently effected a leadership succession with Sheron Jayasundara, a 23-year-old stalwart of the company, taking over the reins as CEO, and Nimal redefining his role as the Company’s Chairman and Chief Innovator and Strategist. Sheron and CFO Chamika also became members of the Company’s Board of Directors, with the Board now mirroring the gender-balanced professional cadre of the Agency.
“We are delighted to come on the radar of CMO Asia, which tracks and awards achiever companies through their own research,” said Gunewardena. “Last year, Sheron was recognised by them as a Pioneering Woman Leader, and this year they have figured out that behind every empowered woman is an empowering employer.”
