  • Wins three Gold and two Silver awards for Softlogic Life’s ‘Legends’ and ‘Christmas Tree of Hope’ campaigns

Adding another set of industry mettle to its portfolio, New Media Solutions (NMS), a leading player in homegrown media, brand communications, and public relations, won six awards at the SLIM digis, including the coveted Grand Prix award, for its outstanding work with Softlogic Life, Sri Lanka’s 2nd largest life insurer.

NMS won these coveted Grand Prix award under the ‘Best use of UGC Content’ for their trailblazing contributions towards Softlogic Life’s ‘Legends’ campaign. Additionally, NMS won three Golds (under ‘Best use of AI’, ‘Cross media integration’ and ‘Best use of Creator/Influencer/UGC Content’ categories) and a Silver (‘Best digital marketing campaign in insurance’ category) for the same campaign and a Silver (‘Cross media integration’) for the ‘Sri Lanka’s Inspiring Christmas Tree of Hope’ campaign.

Last year, Softlogic Life launched the ‘Legends’ campaign by showcasing Sri Lanka’s first artificial intelligence (AI) TV commercial, recreating four of the most iconic music legends of the country: H.R. Jothipala, Milton Mallawarachchi, Clarence Wijewardena, and Sunil Perera. The creative campaign, which showed the four artists performing Softlogic Life’s iconic “Leda Leda’ tune using “deepfake” technology, made waves across Sri Lanka.

As part of ‘Sri Lanka’s Inspiring Christmas Tree of Hope’, Softlogic Life unveiled its iconic vegetable Christmas tree at the most iconic Galle Face roundabout last December. The Christmas tree was made up of vegetable plants planted and sent to Softlogic Life by people from all four corners of Sri Lanka. It went down in history as Sri Lanka’s first-ever crowdsourced Christmas tree made of vegetable plants. This unique installation comprised 2,000+ organic plants of diverse varieties and nutritional values, all put together to create a Christmas tree amidst harsh sunlight, sea breeze and humidity.

In both these campaigns, NMS played a pivotal role in bringing them to life, employing creativity and strategic thinking to amplify Softlogic Life’s message. The agency’s comprehensive approach involved leveraging various media channels and public relations platforms to ensure maximum visibility and engagement.

NMS Managing Director Nilupa Sanjaya Liyanage said: “We are incredibly honoured to receive these prestigious awards at the SLIM DIGIS, which reflect our commitment to pushing creative and technological boundaries in Sri Lanka’s media and communications landscape. Our work on Softlogic Life’s ‘Legends’ and the ‘Christmas Tree of Hope’ campaigns exemplify our out-of-the-box approach to strategic communication, combining innovative PR strategies to enhance brand awareness in ways that truly resonate with audiences. By leveraging influencers and key opinion leaders, we amplified the brand’s reach and deepened connections with audiences. This recognition celebrates our team’s passion and expertise and strengthens our dedication to creating impactful, forward-thinking campaigns.”

Softlogic Life Head of Marketing Chamindri Pilimatalauwe said: “The ‘Legends’ and ‘Christmas Tree’ campaigns had been a remarkable journey in reimagining how creativity coupled with technology can connect our brand with the hearts of Sri Lankans in a meaningful and memorable way.
