The 23rd SLIM Brand Excellence Awards, themed “Excellence in Human Intelligence,” will honour outstanding achievements in Sri Lankan marketing on 20 December at the Waters Edge Hotel in Colombo.

Organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), the awards feature 15 categories, including notable additions such as Agile Brand of the Year and Green Brand of the Year.

SLIM President Gayan Perera emphasised the awards’ role in showcasing the capabilities of Sri Lankan brand marketers who strive for international standards. “Our stringent evaluation process ensures high-quality standards and transparency. We expect top brands from various sectors to showcase their compelling brand stories,” Perera stated.

SLIM SVP- Events & Sustainability Dr. Dilhan Sampath Jayatilleke said: “SLIM Brand Excellence is the most sought-after awards ceremony for marketers. This year’s theme underscores the creative work driven by human intelligence. We invite everyone to join us and showcase their human intelligence at work”.

The evaluation process, led by a panel of experienced professionals, is based on Brand Intent, Brand Content, Brand Process, and Brand Performance. These criteria, developed by the late Professor Uditha Liyanage, ensure a comprehensive assessment of each entry.

Project Chairman Channa Jayasinghe highlighted the importance of strategic and creative brand development. “This year we honour ‘Excellence in Human Intelligence,’ recognising innovation, creativity, and resilience in our contestants. Leveraging human intelligence is vital for driving growth, ensuring sustainability, and creating impactful brands,” Jayasinghe remarked.

Head of the Jury Tharaka Ranwala, underscored the awards’ focus on brands that demonstrate deep consumer understanding, cultural diversity, ethical practices, and relentless innovation. “Brand excellence honours these qualities,” Ranwala added.

The SLIM Brand Excellence Awards provide a platform for companies to showcase their achievements, enhancing their contributions to the marketing profession and the national economy. By fostering competition and recognising excellence, SLIM aims to elevate the marketing profession and significantly contribute to Sri Lanka’s economic development.

This event is a key opportunity for Sri Lankan marketers to gain recognition and demonstrate their capabilities on both local and international stages.
