The Marketers Summit 2017, organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), will be held tomorrow at Waters Edge from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. featuring five renowned speakers in marketing, with emphasis on Understanding the Future Consumer, Driving Brand Loyalty through BTL Channels, Strategic CSR & Sustainability, Business Disruption and Revolution of Sales.
The SLIM Marketers Summit is the annual conference organised by SLIM for Marketers and is a unique event that sees the explanation of best practices in the marketing world, the sharing of some of the biggest case studies and the introduction of new global marketing trends. The event is a must-attend for all corporates and students hoping to pursue a career in the marketing sphere.
As the national body for marketing in Sri Lanka, SLIM has had an integral responsibility for nearly 50 years in training and qualifying excellent marketers for prosperous careers, thus adding value to the nation’s ambitious development agenda by exposing the marketing fraternity to trending business areas in the local and global arena.
The theme this year is ‘The Future of Marketing Dynamics’, which is built around the core message of ‘Are you in the right direction?’.
Following the successful forum held earlier this year with Ron Kaufman, SLIM will cover five prominent and consistent topics that have proved to be vital in the development of the marketing industry at this event, by a panel with experts from the local and international community.
The success of an event relies on the quality of its speakers. The speakers can either motivate and inspire the audience or leave them falling asleep in their chair.
Tom Abbott has been raising participants out of their seats and elevating them to new heights for over 15 years. Specialising in educating and motivating sales professionals, he uses examples they can relate and aspire to in his keynotes. He is an international sales expert, trainer, coach, keynote speaker and author of ‘The SOHO Solution: 21 Solution Strategies for growing your small business ’, ‘Social Selling’, and ‘The Selling Solution’. He delivers keynote speeches and conducts programs throughout Asia Pacific for market leaders who want to make a difference in their organisation. Market leaders such as AmBank, Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific, Singapore Telecommunications, NCS Ltd, Singapore Press Holdings, Surbana Corporation Pte Ltd. and Far East Property Sales have trusted Abbott to make their events a knockout success.
Abbot will speak on the ‘Revolution in Sales’ and the speaker Michael Koest, the Managing Director/CEO of the Ceylon Tobacco Company, will address the gathering on ‘Driving Brand Loyalty through BTL Channels’, which will provide invaluable insights on branding.
Understanding that prediction of the demands of consumers as we move through the 21st Century is vital for a successful marketing forecast, Carl Cruz, the Chairman of Unilever Sri Lanka, will speak on the topic of ‘Understanding the Future Consumer’.
The next topic ‘Strategic CSR &Sustainability’ will be handled by Farzana Khan, the Sustainable Development, External Affairs and Communication Director of Siam City Cement (Lanka) Ltd, and Sharang Pant, the Managing Director of Nielson Sri Lanka, who will speak on ‘Business Disruptions’. These insightful sessions are guaranteed to add immense value to the professional lives of marketing practitioners in Sri Lanka.
As the national institute of marketing in Sri Lanka, SLIM has always been at the forefront when it comes to encouraging, developing and uplifting the marketing fraternity and thereby the overall business milieu in the country through the latest best practices, learning and innovations using practical perspectives. The Marketers Summit of 2017 is only one of the many ventures by SLIM to ensure a successful future for the marketing industry of Sri Lanka.
SLIM is always passionate about delivering the most effective educational programs for the country with renowned international and local speakers. This is evident by the type of corporates who continue to use its services extensively.
