The National Sales Awards (NSA) 2024 organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) has reached a record-breaking milestone in receiving the highest number of entries thus far. It surpassed 1,000 submissions showcasing the constant growth in trust as well as enthusiasm among the sales fraternity for a robust industry excellence with the wider range of categories among those over 1,000 entries which further has given further appeal for the event. SLIM’s National Sales Awards is a single, but phenomenal effort towards fostering innovation and industry excellence which also has contributed to the increased engagement.
Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing President Gayan Perera expressed, “The enthusiasm of the marketing fraternity is reflected through the number of entries that SLIM National Awards has received this year. It also reinforces the efforts that SLIM has taken for marketing excellence, through which we have been able to retain trust among these professionals. It is absolutely remarkable.” Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing Vice President – Events and Sustainability Dr. Dilhan Sampath Jayatilleke described, “National Sales Awards is the only National Awards Ceremony in Sri Lanka which recognises the Sales Professionals. Achieving the Highest Number of Entries go on to show the recognition that the organisations want the Sales Professionals to possess. Winning at NSA is the greatest achievement in the career of any Salesperson and the standards that SLIM is maintaining makes it the most wanted achievement for both individuals and organisations alike.”
SLIM National Sales Awards 2024 Project Chair Nuwan Thilakawardhana expressed excitement over the record number of entries, stating “This achievement reinforces SLIM’s excellence. The expansion of categories which reflects a commitment to inclusivity and recognises talent across various sectors. This development not only enhances SLIM’s reputation but also showcases the dynamic nature of Sri Lanka’s sales landscape, promoting innovation and excellence in the industry.”
SLIM is the apex body for marketing in Sri Lanka and revamping marketing since 1970. SLIM National Sales Awards is one effort with the aim of becoming the driving force for enhancing national value in business and marketing in the country. Subsequently it was incorporated by an act of Parliament in 1980, recognising it as the National Body for Marketing and a ‘not-for-profit’ organisation.
The SLIM National Sales Awards, in fact, is a unique opportunity for small and medium industries in earning their recognition for the best campaigns and content amongst an extremely congested digital landscape. It rewards high performing individuals for their efforts and achievements in the sales fraternity and provides national level recognition at the Premier event, which will be held in December 2024. With this significant event, SLIM looks forward to continuing growth followed by success in future initiatives, building on this momentum.
