‘Sri Lanka Retail Forum 2018’, organised by the Sri Lanka Retailers Association (SLRA), an approved association of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, will be inaugurated this evening (17 October) at the Cinnamon Grand, Colombo, with Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Chief Guest.
The Retail Forum is being held for the second consecutive year, with this year’s theme focused ‘towards a dynamic and evolving retail sector’. This evening, a networking with industry leaders will take place, with 400 retail and associate sector professionals in attendance.Beginning the full-day forum tomorrow (18 October), Senior Partner and Director of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Abheek Singhi will deliver the keynote address during the inaugural session. Minister of Finance and Mass Media Mangala Samaraweera is to attend as the Chief Guest, and Deputy Chairman of John Keells Holdings, Krishan Balendra as the Guest of Honour.
The forum will hold four key sessions – Reshaping Customer Engagement; Driving Tomorrow’s Retail Today; New Models Challenging the Status-Quo: Brands-Culture-Sustainability; Where is Retail in the Region Heading? – with 18 renowned global and local sector practitioners ready to share their expertise.
SLRF 2018 seeks to energise the nation’s maturing retail industry and provide solutions to struggling sectors, to reach the untapped potential of Sri Lanka as a retail hub, which consists of a 2 billion+ extended market population in the neighbouring region, and as such, this forum will stage a common goal, at the regional, national, industrial, and corporate levels.
