Airtel frontline’s strategies and market instincts were commended when the Airtel Sales Team won two awards at the prestigious NASCO Awards, one of the main events of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing’s calendar, which recognises sales excellence by rewarding some of the best sales personnel in the country.
Bharti Airtel, a leading global telecommunications company with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa, announced that two of its Area Managers attached to Airtel Lanka were adjudged winners in the Telecommunications category at the recently-concluded SLIM NASCO Awards 2012.
Airtel bagged the Gold and Bronze awards in the Telecommunication sector in the Best Area Manager Category. The gold was won by Raamathilagar Maruthanayagam and the bronze by Ravi Kumara. Raam, who is currently the Territory Manager for Trincomalee and Batticaloa, was also shortlisted for the Best Overall Area Manager
Commenting on the achievements, Bharti Airtel Sri Lanka CEO Suren Goonewardene said: “We couldn’t be more proud that two of our Area Managers have won this distinction at a national level and we hope that their success will motivate all other sales personnel to strive for sales excellence. I offer my congratulations to Raam and Ravi and hope they keep up the excellent work.”
SLIM NASCO 2012 – the premier event in Sri Lanka that recognises sales excellence and rewards and motivates sales professionals to achieve greater heights – gave out awards to over 10 industrial categories and all area managers, sales reps and sales executives were entitled to participate. The event saw over 207 participants vying for honours this year.
