Aitken Spence PLC, the country’s leading blue-chip conglomerate has once again reposed its confidence with the country’s national body of accountants, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) by supporting its activities as a lead sponsor for the year 2014/2015.
The sponsorship will facilitate in enhancing the activities related to the accounting profession carried out by CA Sri Lanka.
The sponsorship cheque was recently handed over to CA Sri Lanka President Arjuna Herath by Aitken Spence’s Deputy Chairman and Managing Director J M S Brito. Speaking on the renewed support extended to CA Sri Lanka, Mr. Brito said, “Aitken Spence has over many decades pioneered many businesses and set industry benchmarks in several key sectors of the Sri Lankan economy. We believe that human resources development is a critical factor in driving sustainable growth in the country.
Hence we are pleased to announce our continued support to CA Sri Lanka, which is one of Sri Lanka’s oldest and largest professional bodies, with the aim of strengthening the country’s human capital,”
Welcoming Aitken Spence onboard for the year 2014, Mr. Herath noted that this was the fourth year in a row Aitken Spence had renewed its support to CA Sri Lanka, which was an endorsement to CA Sri Lanka’s continuing efforts to serve society by promoting and developing the accountancy profession.
