Two AkzoNobel Paints Lanka sales professionals were recognised with Silver Awards for excellence at SLIM NASCO 2015. The panel, which seeks to appreciate outstanding performances by sales professionals in Sri Lanka, choose from a substantial number of applicants every year for recognition at its annual awards ceremony.
AkzoNobel is a leading global paints and coatings company and a major producer of specialty chemicals. Its ‘Dulux’ brand is a household name in Sri Lanka, with over 100 local staff members. In June 2015, AkzoNobel Paints Lanka was listed as a Great Place to Work for the third consecutive year and was commended in particular for its efforts to foster team morale and professional development.
Amila Indika and Tharaka Perera were honoured by SLIM NASCO for their exceptional performance over the past year in the categories of Territory Manager and Front Line in the Industrial Products respectively.
Amila Indika is responsible for Gampaha and Kurunegala Districts, which he has overseen as Territory Manager for four years. Tharaka Perera was recognised for his affable presence and determined work ethic, which has helped the front line sales professional build and foster easy rapport with customers in the Gampaha District.
“Our employees constantly strive to deliver their best,” commented Priya de Mel, National Sales Manager for AkzoNobel Paints Lanka Ltd. “They are guided by our core values of customer focus, delivery on commitments, passion for excellence and winning together. The management team endeavours to create as many opportunities as possible for our team to advance in their chosen career, by sharing best practices across the board and via cross exposure owing to our international presence,” said de Mel, who also emphasised the company’s inclusive policy as a key factor of its success.
“Both Amila Indika and Tharaka Perera embody the values that our employees try to emulate in their work place,” he added. “Their accomplishments have been duly acknowledged by the company, and we look forward to seeing more AkzoNobel employees being recognised for their professional achievements.”
The SLIM NASCO Awards were introduced in 2010 as an evaluation and selection process for sales champions in various sectors as well as job categories. The NASCO (National Sales Congress) aims to raise the standard of sales professionalism in Sri Lanka by choosing winners through a carefully moderated selection process adjudicated by an experienced panel of judges. This year’s awards ceremony was held on 24 July at Waters Edge, Battaramulla.
