Last year’s biggest winner BBDO again emerged as the most awarded agency at the Asia-Pacific Marketing Congress (Appies) 2014, a two-day marketing and advertising festival in Singapore.
BBDO agencies picked up four golds in the Business Services, Non-food FMCG, and Consumer Durables categories. BBDO Singapore won two golds for the “Little Things Matter”, campaign for Aviva and the “Help your child shine”; campaign for HP in India. BBDO Guerrero picked up the top award for P& G’s “Women against Labels”; campaign and BBDO and Proximity China took home a gold for the “Gillette Scandal Shave” ad.
McCann India bagged two golds in the Food and Beverage category for Coca Cola’s Adding Fizz to the Family Mealtime; and Nestle’s “Kick-starting India’s Morning.”
BBH India fared well in the Non Food FMCG category, notching the top awards for “Change with Pride”; and “Sharing Success” both campaigns for homegrown company Marico.
DDB Singapore and Ogilvy & Mather Thailand also picked up an award each in the Business Services and Pro Bono categories.
Sridhar Ramaswamy, director of retail marketing at Lenovo and the chief judge for the event said the quality of this year’s work was amazing. “Appies is about effectiveness and the winning work really represents that. This year’s work also saw a lot more collaboration between the client side and the agency.”
Agencies presented their short listed work live at the event on 14 and 15 August, through a four-minute show reel, followed by a six-minute exposition on the work.
