Clinches highest number of awards under FMCG Category
Ceylon Biscuits Ltd. (CBL), one of the leading Sri Lankan conglomerates in the food industry, emerged triumphant, securing five awards at the recently-held National Sales Congress 2013 (NASCO) organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM).
Under the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) category, CBL secured places in all three sub categories they applied for.
The CBL team walked away with two gold awards, one silver award and two bronze awards at the premier event, held at Hilton, which recognises sales excellence, and rewards and motivates sales professionals to achieve greater heights.
Mohomad Ramiz, bagged the gold award for the Most Outstanding Front-Liner of the year in FMCG. He represents range A CBL products, which includes Ritzbury and Tiara. Dhammika Perera secured the second Gold medal to the group by claiming the Territorial Manager title, while Asanka Halangoda and Lanka Rajeeva, won silver and bronze awards respectively as the Most Outstanding Sales Executive and Supervisor, representing range C which handles Lanka Soy and Samaposha. Adding to the list of awards, Janaka Godagedara from range B which handles Munchee products grabbed a bronze award as the Most Outstanding Territory Manager. Commenting on the excellent performance displayed by the CBL team, Group General Manager Sales, I.M. Kahn said: “While congratulating the winners we also wish to thank every one of you for the support and encouragement which enabled us to make this achievement a reality. It is our sales team that takes the brand islandwide, making CBL one of the market leaders in the food industry. As a result of continuous training programs and career development initiatives carried out by CBL, our sales team has over the years shown excellent results living up to the expectations of the company.”
According to SLIM, the SLIM NASCO awards, now in its 13th year, which attracted over 200 entries from a variety of companies, is the only national forum which allows the best performers in companies to be appraised by a panel of highly acclaimed judges. NASCO’s objectives are to raise the standard of sales professionalism in the country, by recognizing and rewarding the high flyers in the sales and marketing industry.
At the 2012 SLIM NASCO prize distribution, CBL bagged a total of six awards. This included three gold awards, two silver awards and a bronze award.
