Chaminda appointed Director of Masters Advertising on 50th anniversary

Chaminda Gamage has long been associated with Masters Advertising and responsible for some of its most influential campaigns. His most recent campaign for Sudantha toothpaste has helped make the brand a household name in a highly competitive category.

“Chaminda has been responsible for the creation of some iconic brand campaigns- from Dialog GSM, Zesta and Kahata Tea,  Munchee,  Nations Trust Bank,  Elephant House,  Reckitt Benckiser, Wintogeno, Hutch Ran Katha,  Tokyo Ready Mix Cement,  Carlton 7s Rugby for Sri Lanka Insurance and Mobitel  to  Singer PLC” said  Mike Masilamani, Joint Managing Director at Masters.  “It gives us great pleasure to welcome Chaminda Gamage to the board of directors of Masters Advertising in this landmark year,” said Ms. Dharshi Thambiah, Joint Managing Director, Masters Advertising.

“Chaminda’s campaign titled ‘Sathya Katha’ has played a big role in bringing the brand to its current market position” said Dr. Nugawela, Chairman, Link Natural Products.

 The campaign which began in September 2012 uses personalities ranging from lawyers to municipal councillors to housewives as brand ambassadors for Sudantha toothpaste.

Chaminda in recent past was also involved in promoting Symphony Air Coolers and Hot Water Showers from Singer resulting in a significant market share for these respective brands.

Masters Advertising was founded by Cyril E. Masilamani on the 1st of April 1963.  Ms. Pearl Masilamani serves as the current chairperson.
