CIM holds CEO Breakfast Forum with 3M India MD

The CIM CEO Breakfast Forum titled ‘Marketing led Growth and Innovation’ organised by The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Sri Lanka Region was held  on 16 March at the Union Ballroom, Hilton Colombo Residencies.

Over 50 prominent CEOs representing insurance, FMCG, banking and finance, and the hospitality sector as well delegates from the American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka (AmCham) attended the event that was hosted by invitation.

The keynote speaker for the event was 3M India Limited Managing Director Ajay Nanavati. Nanavatiwho has had extensive experience at 3M, joined 3M India in October 2008 and is credited for building the India operations.

 He has since worked across various roles in 3M; spending five years in Singapore leading 3M’s Telecom Business in the APAC Region, followed by four years in Austin, Texas where he was responsible for starting a new telecom services business for 3M.

He then spent three years at the 3M headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota where he led the acquisition and integration of a US based company into 3M.  

Nanavati has previously worked with the Tata Group and Birla Group across various functions and geographies and holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech., USA.

The forum attendees were able to draw on the subject of marketing led growth through the case of 3M’s innovation strategies that was presented by Nanavati.
