A still shot from the commercial At the SLIM Neilsen People’s Choice Awards (SLIM Nielsen Peoples Awards 2015) held recently at Waters Edge, Commercial Credit was awarded SLIM Nielsen Peoples Advertisement of the year for the brand’s ‘Amba Seeya’ television short film. The intrinsically local insight, heartfelt storyline and vibrant visuals resonated with audiences across the island and was selected as the year’s most beloved advert film in the television medium. Originally in Sinhala and subsequently aired in both English and Tamil with subtitles, the commercial was created by J Walter Thompson Colombo’s team comprising Chandini Rajaratnam, Suminda Gamage, Shihan Wickramasinghe, Mahesh Galabadaarachchi, Fathima Farzana, Nalaka Weerasekara, Himanshu Saxena and Gayan Perera in collaboration with the Commercial Credit Marketing team. The 30 second film was directed by Prasanna Jayakody and was produced by Sky Productions. Through the advert, Commercial Credit conveyed its unorthodox approach to financial marketing – steering away from clinical service-driven messaging to instead celebrate human interactions and endeavours.
