Event to let all marketers redefine the 3R’s of Rethink, Readjust & Reach
The CIM Future Marketers Conference will return for its third consecutive time on 14 June 2014 at the Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This is an initiative of the Student Committee of The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Region (CIMSLR). This year’s conference will redefine the 3R’s: ‘Rethink, Readjust, Reach’, and take the audience through an in-depth investigation into sustaining longevity in today’s competitive businesses.
The student conference will bring together four renowned corporate leaders with impressive experience and inspiring stories to educate aspiring marketers. Malaysia Blue Ocean Strategy Institute (MBOSI) Operations Director Ravi Fernando, Capital Maharaja Organisation Ltd Group Director (News) Chevan Daniel, Lanka Harness Company Ltd Managing Director Rohan Pallewatte and Eco Tourism Ltd & Beyond Boundaries Global Ltd. Founder/Managing Director Anuruddha Bandara.
The conference will take a twist with the panel discussion addressing the topic of ‘Marketing Five South Asian Hubs’.
Fernando will speak on ‘Key conditions for business to embed sustainability in corporate strategy’, Daniel on ‘The audacious future of limitless information’, Pallewatte will share insights on ‘Reaching the bigger picture as an entrepreneur’ whilst Bandara will speak on ‘Redefining eco-tourism to strengthen competitive advantage’. The conference will be taken up a notch with a panel discussion on ‘Marketing the five South Asian Hubs.’
Former Sri Lanka Cricket Captain, Kumar Sangakkara endorsing the CIM Student conference states, “When responding to socially sensitive issues, people tell us how they wish things were, rather than how they actually are. When faced with an issue like the environment, people feel overwhelmed and would like to do something constructive. Today more companies embrace Sustainability as they see future benefits. We can certainly make our businesses and brands sustainable and by doing so it will help us inspire consumers to adapt to a more sustainable behavior. Learn from the expertise on how brands can help achieve a Sustainable future at the CIM Future Marketers Conference 2014.”
CIM Student Committee President Shehara Fernando commented, “This year we have done a change with the format of the panel discussion. Previous years the discussion was facilitated by our very own lecturers who are also industry experts, however, this year for the discussion on marketing the five South Asian hubs we will have with us experts on the panel to give us a first-hand view on the topics discussed.”
CIM Sri Lanka Region Chairman Shantha Katipearachchi commented, “The conference will prove a valuable stepping stone for any CIM student as it aims to enhance marketing adaptations which are relevant to the contemporary and ever-evolving CIM syllabus.”
