Dr. Stephen R. Covey has been impacting thousands in Sri Lanka out of millions around the world. Franklin Covey Sri Lanka and Maldives was established in 2003 during his first visit in the 2003. He visited again twice in 2006 and in 2009 to talk to few thousands in Colombo.

“During all these three visits we had people from all walks of life who wanted to listen personally to Stephen Covey and were inspired by him,” said Ameer Ahamed, who is the CEO for Sri Lanka and Maldives and a Master Certified Trainer of the Franklin Covey program in South Asia. He is a privileged Trainer personally trained by Dr. Covey himself.

“When many thought leaders globally said a firm ‘no’ to travel to Sri Lanka due to the conditions prevailed in the last 10 years prior to winning the war against terror in Sri Lanka, Dr. Covey’s response in 2002 when I first met him in USA was a firm ‘yes’ to come to Sri Lanka,” recalled Ahamed. “He instantly said, ‘I will be there if I am needed in your country. Let me know when to come.’ It really made me think the impossible possible all the time.”

“We made it possible and launched the company in Sri Lanka in 2003 during his first visit where almost 1,000 people joined me personally benefiting from his wisdom. With the next two programs happening in 2006/2009, we took one step further and broadcasted the program from Colombo to Pakistan (in two cities, Karachi and Lahore) where participants from these two cities were able to listen to Stephen Covey and ask questions from there, Stephen Covey was enthusiastic in answering these questions.”

“Since the launch of Franklin Covey in Sri Lanka and Maldives we have been able to touch thousands of people in the corporate world with this great thinking of living a life with purpose, to be effective in personal and professional life. He was a real inspiration, a role model and great human being to have been known in the last 10 years of my life, who really lived what he taught,” added Ahamed.
