Elephant House Cream Soda took home the coveted ‘FMCG Beverage Brand of the Year’ Award for the 6th consecutive year at the recently concluded SLIM-Nielson People’s Awards 2012.

The awards, jointly held by the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) and A.C. Nielsen, are distinguished by the fact that they reflect the choice of the people, based on research undertaken with people from all walks of life, including the North and East, advocating their favourite personalities, brands, advertisements and many more.

Thus, truly Sri Lanka’s favourite drink, Elephant House Cream Soda’s success in bagging the award for the sixth consecutive year is attributed to its marketing strategies and brand positioning, which have taken into account the psyche of local consumers, namely the vibrant youth Cream Soda caters to. As a local company we’ve had to fight harder - strive harder and are proud to have “Put the Pop Back into the lives of all Sri Lankans”.

In addition to Elephant House Cream Soda, Elephant House produces a variety of soft drinks, including its latest addition KIK Cola, as well as local favourites such as EGB, Orange Barley, Lemonade, Necto, Orange Crush, Apple Soda and Soda and have been able to compete successfully because the company has understood local consumers’ needs better than its competitors.

Strategically, Elephant House has strengthened the position of all its brands, moving away from a perception of being traditional in the minds of consumers, by consistently investing in them, to create strong brand identities to which the people can relate to.

The future is bright for Elephant House and with this win for the 6th consecutive year, tribute to the special place Elephant House Cream Soda holds in the heart of the Sri Lankan consumer, Elephant House promises to bring even more joy to the people of Sri Lanka in the years to come.
