Etisalat Lanka was recently commended after two of its outstanding employees won one national and two silver awards at the prestigious National Sales Congress (NASCO) Awards 2014 , presented by the national body of marketing; Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM). Etisalat Flagship Store Kandy Branch Manager Thushani Premawardena won the national award for ‘Top Female Sales Supervisor / Executive’ and Silver for the ‘Best Sales Supervisor / Executive’ while Manager - Corporate Sales Charith Vithanaarachchi, won the silver award for the ‘Best Territory Manager’ in the telecommunications category. One of the most sought after events of the SLIM calendar, the NASCO Awards are conducted annually to increase the standard and recognise excellence in the sales profession by rewarding some of the best sales personnel in the country. This year, NASCO introduced new categories such as Modern Retail, Insurance, IT, Corporate Selling and Best Female to the winning categories while an award for the ‘Best Female Salesperson’ was introduced to encourage more female participation. Both Charith and Thushani were evaluated on their success in meeting established company targets, completing a written examination and facing a series of interviews conducted by an eminent panel of professionals in the field. At the interview stage they were assessed as to how successfully they met the company targets, their capacity to take up higher responsibilities in the corporate structure and ability to formulate creative solutions to challenges they faced in the Mobile Telecommunication Industry. Commenting on these achievements, Etisalat Lanka Acting Chief Executive Officer Wail Salman said, “Excelling in this profession takes a lot of time, dedication and personal sacrifice; this is a proud moment for our company.
