Expolanka Holdings wins two gold awards for ‘Think Out of the Box’

Expolanka Holdings PLC was awarded with the gold award in the non-traditional annual report category for conglomerates and another gold award for printing and production in the same category from among a record-breaking 2,260 entries from 34 countries at the Academy Awards of Annual Reports at the 27th ARC Awards International in New York City on Wednesday, 7 August, 2013.
Commenting on the award, Paddy Weerasekera, Head of Marketing, Corporate Communications and CSR stated: “We are elated to win this prestigious international award for the second time running. In line with our company credo ‘Doing Business with a Dare to do Spirit’ where we think and act as a streamlined conglomerate that is free from conventions and limits that bind us, we wanted the 2011/2012 annual report to clearly encapsulate this in its design idea, hence the title “Think Out of the Box”. Both the awards were won in the non-traditional category which further established and endorsed the overall intentions.”
The report was conceptualised and designed by Copyline (Pvt) Ltd. and the production handled by Gunaratne Offset (Pvt) Ltd.
For over a quarter of a century, The MerComm Annual Report Competition — the ARC Awards has been the most anticipated annual report event of the year. The awards are globally recognised, providing a platform for the highest standards in the annual report industry. The competition is open to all organisations and individuals involved in the process of producing annual reports for publicly held or privately owned companies, government agencies, associations, and not-for-profit organisations.

Expolanka Holdings PLC last year walked away with the best of category grand award for the year 2011 in green/environmentally sound annual report (gold award), most environmentally sound annual report (gold award), non traditional annual report (gold award), cover design (bronze award) and printing & production (honours award).
