Festival of Asian Marketing Effectiveness kicks off in Shanghai today

The two-day Festival of Asian Marketing Effectiveness, Asia Pacific’s foremost gathering of marketing, advertising and media industry executives, acclaimed marketing experts and brand pioneers, will kick off today in Shanghai.

The festival at the Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai, from 8 to 9 May is a celebration of the latest thinking in marketing effectiveness and a showcase of some of the very best examples of effective brand building from around the globe. It features a compelling program of seminars and discussions, awards judging, networking events and a gala awards presentation. A line-up of over 30 industry leaders from across the Asia Pacific region will take the stage to address and debate relevant issues and themes.

The Festival of Asian Marketing Effectiveness (FAME) will engage delegates with an outstanding two-day program of content, providing insights and learning into effectiveness in brand marketing.

Wednesday’s speakers will include Lenovo Executive Director Global Brand Communications Worldwide Marketing Ajay Kaul; Saatchi & Saatchi Chairman & Regional CEO Asia Pacific Chris Foster; BBDO India Chairman & National Creative Director Josy Paul; VML CEO and President Jon Cook; JWT Director of Strategic Planning, Asia Pacific Ratan Mali; HSBC China Head of Marketing (Retail Banking and Wealth Management) Microsoft Greater China Jia Tan and General Manager of Windows Product, Wei Qing.

On Thursday, seminars will continue with the likes of Lowe + Partners President and Chief Creative Officer Leigh Reyes; Leo Burnett Institute of Behaviour, Head of Consulting Joseph Baladi; Tencent National Planning GM Sophia Ong; Mindshare Worldwide Chief Technology Officer/Chief Information Officer Steven Plimsoll; Mars China Senior Media Manager Li Lei; P&G China Purchasing Group Manager, Digital Media Sabrina Tian and Miaozhen Systems Chief Executive Officer Wei Zhu.

Alongside the content program, a selection of shortlisted work from The Festival of Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards will be on show, providing a showcase of the region’s finest work and giving delegates the opportunity to learn and draw inspiration.

During the Festival the jury will discuss and debate the shortlisted entries to decide on those that are worthy enough to be elevated to prize winning status. The winners will be revealed and honoured during the Awards Ceremony which draws the Festival to a close on Wednesday 9 May.

Following a new format this year; delegates are invited to attend an Awards cocktail reception before taking their seats in the Grand Ballroom at the Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai, for the Awards ceremony. The Awards after-show cocktail will end the Festival and Awards in style with the chance to celebrate and network into the night.
