HitAd’s Sarathchandra adjudged Best Sales Executive at SLIM-NASCO Awards

Sri Lanka Institute of marketing (SLIM) recently held the National Sales Congress (NASCO), the only national level event that recognises and celebrates the Sales Force of the country. At the SLIM-NASCO gala of 2014, Chamod Shehan Sarathchandra, a valuable member of the Sunday Times – HitAd team, won the award for the category of sales executive – media.
Spearheaded by Samantha Weeraratne, Sunday Times – HitAd was introduced to the public in 2004. Since its inception, the tabloid has revitalised the Sri Lankan market and become the forerunner in advertising, accepted island wide as the premier advertising magazine. Initially printed with only four broadsheet pages, the magazine now approaches an approximate 400 pages on a weekly basis.
The magazine’s success within the span of 10 years can be attributed to the dynamic marketing personalities behind its pages. The commendable qualities of the staff, their dedication and passionate drive to achieve the best-enabled HitAd to be recognised as a unique magazine and concept that caters to both the small-time entrepreneur and the corporate giants.
Sarathchandra, who has been a member of the HitAd team for nearly five years, was acknowledged for his admirable contribution to the magazine by being the sole winner of the sales executive – media category at the SLIM – NASCO 2014. This victory demonstrates the strength and dedication of the HitAd staff to continue to be the number one advertising magazine in the country.
Issued with Sunday Times newspaper, HitAd features a wide range of products compassing stationary products to automobile to travel and relaxation and a variety of other items. Read by a wide portion of the populace, the magazine reinforces its motto ‘Something new everyday’ by continuously innovating itself and introducing new products and creating new categories.
HitAd has contributed to the development of the economy directly and indirectly and offers the general public a place to sell its products and services. HitAd has successfully provided the small enterprising businessmen a place to advertise their wares, often leading to the expansion of their business. Moreover, HitAd has managed to open career opportunities to the Sri Lankan society.
