'JAPURA' marketers accelerating towards change

Department of Marketing Management (DMM) of University Sri Jayewardenepura marked yet another milestone in the journey of excellence laying foundation for the Marketing Alumni Association (MAA) in November 2010, themed as “Stand up for Past, Present, and Future Japura Marketers” and the unison of the Marketing fraternity is to be facilitated through the Association.

A key objective of the association was to create a fully fledged practical and professional marketers equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to fulfill the requirements of the demanding job market. Secondly Image Building of the Department and the Marketing Degree is sought by the Alumni Association as the corporate sector remains unaware of the level of effort that is infused in to the fashioning of the Japura marketer by the DMM

The preliminary project organized was the Pirith Chanting held on the 5th of January 2012 to commemorate the 16th Anniversary of the Department of Marketing Management with the attendance of members of the MAA and the present batch of undergraduate in the Marketing Management Association.

DMM have produced more than five hundred and fifty marketing graduates now leading the corporate sorority regionally and elsewhere in the world.

It attempts to enlighten prospective employers of the present and future marketers, and of the fact that the Degree encompasses elements such as Outward Bound Training Programmes to develop the Personality and Skills of the graduates, Fine Arts, Anthropology and Internships which in turn will pave path  to supply complete and well rounded Marketers  to the business world.  

The Marketing Alumni Association extends arms and invites all passed out Japura Marketers to join the Association in its acceleration from strength to strength whilst enjoying fellowship and networking with brothers and sisters in the field of marketing and giving back to the Department fragment of what it has given freely and abundantly.
