JWT Group talent selected for Spikes Asia 2013

Heshan Perera, an Account Executive at Contract Advertising Colombo, a creative agency brand of WPP and JWT Group Sri Lanka, has been selected as the only Sri Lankan to win attendance to ‘The Young Account Executive Academy’ at Spikes Asia 2013. Spikes Asia is the region’s most prestigious creative festival, and is to be held in Singapore later this month. An elite panel of creative judges chose only 30 of the best submissions from South East Asia for the coveted placement for young account executives at the annual Spikes Asia creative festival.  The three-day programme, including seminars and workshops, is aimed to groom account executives to lead clients and brands into groundbreaking creative work. Himanshu Saxena – President, JWT Group Sri Lanka, said, “Earlier this year, one of our JWT Colombo creative talents was the sole representative from Sri Lanka at Unilever’s Young Creative Academy at Cannes Festival. And now it’s Heshan from the Account Management team of Contract at Spikes Asia 2013. Our talent’s recognition at such globally respected forums is a vindication of our investments to improve the quality of our talent through continuous training and skill improvement initiatives. I am really proud that the quality of our young talent is unmatchable in the Sri Lankan ad industry.” JWT Colombo – the other creative agency brand of JWT Group, has also nominated Ralston Joseph and Mudith Jayasekera from its creative team to take part in one of the Young Spikes competitions, ‘Agency Shoot Out’.  This competition will challenge two-member creative teams who will be given a brief and be tasked with developing the winning print advert concept 24 hours later. Spikes Asia, an exclusive learning forum which was attended by over 1,800 last year, will be steered by industry veterans and creative powerhouses through a series of seminars, workshops and exhibitions of the best creative work in the region.
