JWT to represent Sri Lanka at Cannes International

Dinesh Maheswaran & Amanda Aluvihare of JWT, the proud winners of Sri Lanka’s Young Lions Film category will be flying to France this summer to represent Sri Lanka at the prestigious Cannes International Young Lions Competition 2014. In addition, JWT’s Arshad Ahamed & Riyal Riffai and Gihan Rodrigo & Heshan Perera secured the second and third positions respectively, with their submissions spotlighting the strength that lies within the Agency in the area of Film. Vice President & CCO-JWT, Chandini Rajaratnam, commenting about the achievement said “We are extremely proud of our teams that took part in the competition. This time it’s special due to a few reasons. One is that it’s a clean sweep for JWT in the Film Category. Secondly, this is the first time that someone from the discipline of Production has won his way to Cannes, because Dinesh is a Creative Coordinator. Also, this is the third time JWT is representing Sri Lanka in Cannes.” The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity is the biggest and the most prestigious global event in communications that takes place in Cannes, France annually. It attracts thousands of industry giants from around the world each year to celebrate the best of creativity in the industry. The 7-day festival includes seminars, workshops, and master classes apart from the award ceremonies. It also creates a common platform for those who attend to share knowledge and to network with each other. Due to these, the festival has become a must-attend an event for those who are involved in creative communications. The winners heading to France from Sri Lanka this year were announced by Metal Factor, the Sri Lanka representative for the Cannes Lions International festival of Creativity.
