Day One
Join the Leo Burnett Solutions Inc (LBSI) team as they venture to the sunny and exotic shores of Pattaya, Thailand to experience the vibrancy of ADFEST – one of Asia’s largest and most inspirational advertising festivals.
For over 25 years, ADFEST has been a platform that celebrates and promotes creative excellence, bringing together advertising professionals from around the world and inspiring them to rise to new heights of creativity, boldness and innovation.
The theme for this year’s three day ADFEST event is “Co-Create the future” and it highlights the importance of providing ongoing, transparent interactions between businesses and their consumers – after all today’s consumer has a powerful voice that is increasingly becoming more influential.
Hello from Thailand!
Our dynamic team of six Burnetters left to Pattaya a few days before the festival started in order to explore the sights and sounds of Thailand! After a quick trip to the beach we set off to explore the statuesque pagoda of Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of the Dawn. The 67 -meter-tall pagoda is a striking skyline feature and is made of cement and covered in millions of pieces of porcelain. From there we visited the floating markets which contained over 80 paddle boats lined up beside each other. Each boat displayed a colourful range of Thai souvenirs and after we finished our shopping, we sampled a few mouth-watering delicacies such as milk and mango rice, before heading back to our hotel.
What Adfest is about!ADFEST embraces and celebrates local culture and heritage. ADFEST aims to recognise and preserve its rich history of heritage and legacy. The crème de la crème of representatives from all creative industries will have the chance to meet and interact with each other. Along with the Leo Burnett team, other agencies that joined us on this creative pilgrimage include as Response, Triad, Sarva, Shift, Lowe, Bates, Phoenix and Grants from Sri Lanka at ADFEST, all of us vying to bring home metal from this year’s event!
We are proud to announce that two contestants representing Sri Colombo will be participating in the Young Lotus Creative Workshop, created by BBDO Asia Pacific. The other cities being represented are: Auckland, Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lampur, Manila, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei, Tokyo and Dhaka.
The young Lotus teams which create the best ideas will appear in front of a live audience at ADFEST on Saturday 8th March to participate in the ‘BBDO Presents the Young Lotus Creative Workshop’ session.
Our Leo Burnett team has now registered for the festival and are getting ready to attend the first few speaker sessions at ADFEST 2014. And so, we would like to wish our Burnetters and all our fellow agency representatives from Sri Lanka all the very best for ADFEST 2014.
