Maliban Biscuits, said this week it has been honoured as ‘The Most Loved’ biscuit manufacturer, amongst a host of other top brands in Sri Lanka according to the latest LMD Brands Manual 2017 compiled by Brand Finance and presented by Media Services.

With over 65 years in winning hearts and minds of Sri-Lankans of all ages, Maliban has become an everyday household name in the country.

“In today’s market knowing the ever changing needs of your consumer is a key for success. We take pride in our strength in knowing our loyal consumers’ dynamic trends as well as taste requirements. By combining this knowledge with innovative design and extensive R&D, we have presented a variety of quality products that people have fallen in love with for generations.  We are honoured to occupy a rank amidst Sri Lanka’s leading brands and this achievement reflects our growth and the corporate brand value we’ve succeeded in creating amongst our people,” said Ravi Jayawardana – CEO, Sales and Marketing of Maliban Biscuits

The methodology used by Brand Finance for the Most Loved Brands goes through a strict process which includes the screening of respondents to be eligible to participate in the survey, selecting a proper sample size from each district to have a valid base for a brand score. The data collection takes place through a structured questionnaire from which respondents are asked to rate brands on a ten point scale. These responses are absolutely based on consumer opinion. As such the results in rankings are based on public opinion and their perception towards the particular brand.

At the moment, the demand is growing from strength to strength as Maliban delivers what is best for the consumer through continuous R&D processes as well as the best ingredients and raw materials sourced both locally and internationally.

Maliban Managing Director Kumudika Fernando stated: “At the time of inception, family members used to taste products to monitor quality and output and this is even practiced today. We believe in keeping with founding Chairman A.G. Hinniappuhami’s principle; that we should deliver uncompromised quality and taste to our consumers at all times. This is what has kept the Maliban flag flying high over the last six decades. As a result we have become ‘The Most Loved’ biscuit brand in this country. These are the strengths we harness on to move forward on a consistent growth direction. We thank our loyal customers for taking us to new heights as we both grow hand in hand.”

Maliban Biscuit Manufactories is an SLS and ISO (22000, 14001, 9001) certified company.
