Lowe LDB once again asserted its winning edge by walking away with a silver and four bronzes at this year’s Effie Awards, the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing organised leg of the global advertising effectiveness competition.

Most important of all, 2012’s awards were, for Lowe LDB, a continuation of a winning strategy of utilising market research, and field visits, to truly understand the customer, which saw the agency being honoured with five metals this year, in addition to being the most awarded last year. In fact, Lowe LDB’s 2012 metal haul was the result of inspired creative work done for Unilever Sri Lanka and Ceylon Cold Stores (Elephant House). Having won all its awards in the highly competitive fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) category, Lowe LDB received five metals over the course of Effie Awards night.

These included silver, for Signal’s ‘21-day Challenge’, and bronze for Fair and Lovely Max Fairness’s ‘FZ Max Biker consumer promotion’, both in FMCG beauty products. In addition, there were also three bronzes awarded for Elephant House Necto’s ‘Talking Bottle’ campaign, in beverages, Sunlight’s ‘My Sunlight’, in household care, and Lifebuoy’s ‘Germ Fighter Forces’, in personal care.

Lowe LDB President Chalaka Gajabahu said, “It is solely the result of our diligent focus on brand building, honed over 19 years, that we continue to win at international standard competitions such as the Effie Awards. And this, is not just one award, but many and often.”

He added, “We value effectiveness in creativity above all else, and this has reaped untold benefits for us, as an agency, and for the brands under our stewardship, especially with our big winners, which include Unilever brands such as Signal, Sunlight, Lifebuoy and Fair and Lovely, as well as Elephant House brands such as Necto.”

Lowe LDB Executive Chairman and Chief Creative Officer Lilamani Dias Benson stated, “I am so proud of our good creative work that wins over the market, wins our clients’ hearts and minds and also, incidentally, wins awards.”
