Leading the 2014 Effie Effectiveness Index for Sri Lanka, Lowe LDB was ranked the most Effective Agency in the country.
“We are honoured to be recognised for the effectiveness of our ideas and the way in which we bring them to life. We pride ourselves on our deep insights into contemporary culture and a single minded focus on creating ideas that work based on in-depth analysis of core issues on hand. This together with the trust our clients have placed in us have helped us get here,” said Lowe LDB President Chalaka Gajabahu.
This grand recognition comes in a year which saw Lowe LDB dominate the Effie Awards Sri Lanka 2013 as the event’s most awarded agency. Lowe LDB also bagged the coveted ‘Advertisement of the Year’ award at the eighth annual Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) – Nielsen People’s Awards.
Lowe LDB Chairperson Lilamani Dias Benson said, “Clients love when their ads are effective – which is what ‘EFFIEs are all about. Yet an effective piece of advertising does not have to be lecturing or aggressive or loud or listing advantages and boring the consumer to death. The best Effie’s engage and entertain and linger charmingly or daringly in the memory because of some unique insight or some highly creative quality that is utterly relevant to the brand and uniquely memorable. At Lowe LDB we have built a culture on creating ads that do this. And we are so pleased to be recognised again for this quality.”
Lowe LDB has the distinction of being the only ad agency in Sri Lanka to be nominated a ‘Superbrand’ by a highly prestigious panel of top corporates in the country. It is also the only agency in the country to have two of its campaigns included in the University of Colombo’s MBA program as significant case histories, worth studying and emulating.
The Effie Awards have been honouring Ideas that Work Globally since 1968. Originally launched in June 2011, the ‘Effie Effectiveness Index’ identifies and ranks the most effective agencies, marketers, brands, networks, and holding companies by analysing finalist and winner data from Effie competitions around the world.
Announced annually, it is the most comprehensive global ranking of marketing effectiveness. Derived from almost 3,000 finalists and winning entries to Effie Award competitions worldwide between 14 June 2013 and 13 June 2014, the 2014 Effie Effectiveness Index is constructed by converting every Effie award and finalist into points.
