The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka (CIMSL) recently concluded its 14th Annual Conference at the Water’s Edge, Battaramulla. The event saw record number of participation with over 300 marketers and corporate executives attending the conference.
The two-day conference comprising of the Inauguration and Technical Session focused on ‘Marketing Strategy to Execution’ taking the audience through some great insights shared by industry experts, both international and local. The Inauguration Ceremony was addressed by the Chief Guest, Kishu Gomes, Managing Director, Chevron Lubricants Lanka PLC.
The Technical Session proceedings commenced with an insightful presentation on ‘Strategy to Execution in the Service Economy – Delivering Productivity and Profitability’ by Keynote Speaker Prof. Jochen Wirtz, Professor of Marketing at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Dinesh Weerakkody, Chairman – Cornucopia Lanka Ltd. shared his insights on ‘Realising the power of talented employees’ whilst Ankur Bhandari, Managing Director – Asbicon and Kantar Retail India Subcontinent took the audience through an insightful presentation on ‘Path to Purchase’.
Prashant Singh, Managing Director – Nielsen India Region presented his insights on ‘Driving Reaction – The 3R of Marketing Effectiveness’ and Siddharth Banerjee - Country Marketing Director, Unilever Sri Lanka on ‘Strategy to Communication Excellence’.
‘Decision Driven Marketing’ was presented by Sandeep Pandey, Practice Leader, Consulting, Analytics and Intelligence – Mindshare South Asia. Preetham Venkky – Head of Digital Strategy and Business, KRDS Asia talked about ‘Transforming the Business with Technology’.
The conference was brought to a conclusion with a Q&A, Panel Discussion moderated by Graham Marshall – General Manager, Automotive Coatings, Akzo Nobel Paints Lanka whilst the panellists included Aravinda Perera – Managing Director, Sampath Bank PLC, Samantha Rajapaksha – Group Managing Director of Associated Motorways Ltd. and Ravi Dadlani – Vice President, Sales and Marketing and International Business, CEAT Kelani International Tyres Ltd.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing Sri Lanka Chairman Shantha Katipearachchi said: “The Conference has become a much-looked-forward-to event amongst the marketing community in Sri Lanka and this year’s theme was ‘Marketing Strategy to Execution’.
