The Ogilvy Asia Pacific Creative Council Meeting was held in Galle last week. This meeting which lasted three days was attended by 20 Ogilvy creative heavy weights from the region. The Ogilvy Asia Pacific Creative Council gathers biannually and acts as a beacon guiding its Offices in the region on a course to produce work inspired by Ogilvy’s mantra ‘Twin Peaks’ – Creative work that works. China, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Sri Lanka presented work over three days. The work done by Ogilvy offices in these countries in the past two months was brought under review. Eugene Cheong, the Regional Creative Director of Ogilvy Asia Pacific, inaugurating this three-day session observed that this is a unique exercise which enables the creative giants of the region to collectively and critically evaluate the work done by the Ogilvy offices in Asia Pacific. Simple ideas, refreshing insights and powerful messaging were the rocks on which the most memorable campaigns presented at the council were built upon. The Creative Council Meeting which was held in an atmosphere of utmost bonhomie, proved to be a great success as all participants benefited from the open frank and candid discussions that enlightened the sessions.
