OOH Media turns one

In the ever competitive field of advertising and media marketing, OOH Media was founded in Oct 2012 by Shamil Zavahir a veteran in the field of Media marketing. With his extensive multi-decade exposure in the established media spaces (TV and Radio) and as a pioneer digital media marketer in the country, he ventured into the Out Of Home (OOH) Media landscape by diving to the deep end and going solo after 17 years in the industry. During the first year of its establishment OOH Media, facilitated and often strived to integrate complementary multi-service providers with a great degree of credibility and an easy one contact point solution to ever changing client requirements. OOHsky Media In 2013 October as OOH Media turned one year, a bold step to somewhat uncharted waters was taken to the untapped Ariel Media segment with a sub-brand OOHsky Media. OOHsky was initially focused on Hot air balloon branding and helicopter related advertising – but currently focuses purely in branding opportunities on giant inflatable balloons at events of any type. Partnering with an Aviation expert, mainly excelling in ballooning, OOHsky acquired its own fleet of giant inflatable balloons post extensive research. The balloons are shaped in the most unique and eye catching shapes which comprises of an airship (blimp), hot air balloon and a sphere. The back ground colours of these giant balloons are the most neutral colours that enable any colour brand logo to be prominently displayed when the balloons grace the skies. These ever so neutral colours – silver, black and white stands out emphatically anywhere with great deal of vibrancy in any crowded location. OOHsky Media has also been granted the approval by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to fly these giant balloons on a tether line up to a maximum height of 50 ft island-wide enabling the advertiser brand to be visible from a distance. The option of ground based displays (grounded inflations) and tether flying displays are unique platforms for brand exposure. These blimps are used world over at year end sale, special offers, new menu items, branch openings, relocations, launches, sporting events, musical shows, motor races, trade exhibitions, kids parties, birthdays, anniversaries or at weddings. Within less than a month already in Sri Lanka, our national carrier Sri Lankan Airlines used a blimp at Kingsbury Colombo for Sir Ian Botham’s walk flag off and multinational Unilever’s brand Clear used multiple giant blimps in the hill capital of Kandy during a carnival/musical show. There is a lot of unique value to advertisers from the fact that it complements/augments mainstream advertising, it’s said to be five times more effective at attracting crowd attention, when the brand graces the sky, to transform into tall flying brand icons – consumers have a positive emotional experience. These ‘ships of the sky’ create powerful brand statements in today’s Ad-skipping era hence is a definite un-avoidable clutter buster with an above average visual impact.
